Church of St. Francis of Assisi
A slightly audacious, gender-bending version of Handel’s sacred oratorio that plays with the idea of role reversal. Ever wonder how ‘Rejoice Greatly’ would sound performed by a tenor, or ‘Every Valley’ performed by a soprano? For our Messiah, Jean-Sébastien has invited four of Canada’s most exciting concert artists to do just what Handel himself often did in re-assigning the solo roles to various voices.
A Messiah for the 21st century that tells the eternal story in a new way and thrills you with glorious choral sound!
