Debbie Watson

Debbie’s journey with the bodhrán started at Colaisde na Gáidhlig/Gaelic College in Cape Breton where she continues to study each summer. She also studies under top bodhrán players in Ireland (at the prestigious Craiceann Bodhrán Summer School), the US, Canada, Scotland, Portugal and the UK. She has played at many ceilidhs and concerts, including local shows with Anna Ludlow (fiddler for the Toronto production of “Come from Away”), “A Homeland Christmas” concert production in Liverpool, NS, and for concerts with the Goulburn Male Chorus. She is currently working on a recording project with two Cape Breton based musicians. With her drum bag in tow, Debbie has played in a variety of sessions across Canada, the US, and Ireland. Debbie currently resides in Kanata, ON with her collection of drums and tippers.
